Event Volunteers: Please click on the event you are attending and leave a comment with your name. This helps us with the planning. The more volunteers we have, the more dogs we can bring.

Info Board

If you follow the below bullet points, you can help get everything set up quickly and hassle-free:

  • Be on time! We start at 1PM

  • Grab a Furry Friendzy fanny pack (it has poop bags, wipes, and hand sanitizer inside), and put on the QR code lanyard

  • Help unload. XPens, boxes, bags, etc. need to be unloaded first

  • Help build the XPens. We want to lay down the grey blankets first, then build the XPens on top of it

  • Lay down pee pads. Leave a small area free. This is where the bed will go

  • Place a purple blanket around each bed and put it inside the XPen

  • Younger puppies will get soft toys, and older puppies will get hard toys

  • Tie purple banners around the XPens

  • When we unload the puppies, try to get the ones who walk on a leash to go potty

  • When the puppies are in the XPen, we need 1-2 volunteers to stay with them and pick up any poop as quickly as possible (poop bags are in your fanny pack)

  • When all dogs are inside, make sure everybody has a FF bandana

How to help setting up an adoption event.

During the event, we want to take care of the dogs as well as the people who come to see them

  • Have everybody scan the QR code! They can use the website to send us a message (contact form) and see all the dogs that we bring to the events (Go to the menu, click on ‘News and Events’, scroll down until you see today’s event and click on it. All attending dogs will have their kennel card listed)

  • You talk to someone who cannot adopt or foster? No problem, everybody can help in their own way. Maybe they want to take a picture with a puppy and post it on their social media (don’t forget to tag @FurryFriendzy), or maybe they would like to donate (use the links on the website) or they have crates, beds, blankets, towels, toys, or food they want to give.

  • Be attentive! Greet people. Ask them if they want to hold one of the puppies. Try to create a memorable moment.

  • Be alert! Check on the puppies. Pick up any poop. If the pee pads are very dirty, replace them.

  • Take pictures of the dogs and upload them to the Google Drive. We can always use updated pictures for their PetFinder profiles.

  • Eat a snack and grab some water, which you can find in the blue cooler.

What do I do during the event?

How to upload pictures to the Google Drive.

When you take pictures at the events, please upload them to the Google Drive. This grants everybody access to all pictures, that we use for their profiles and to share with people who might be interested in our dogs.

  1. Download the Google Drive app from your app store

  2. Click on the purple button ‘Link to Google Drive’

  3. If you do not already have access, you need to request access

  4. After access was granted (you might need to click the button again), you can add pictures to the folder ‘Adoption Event Uploads’
